Professional expertise you can trace

Kalasiam's watchmakers trained through recognised horological programmes. That background matters because the interior of a mechanical watch is not forgiving of guesswork. Correct lubrication intervals, appropriate torque on hairspring screws, and the sequence of disassembly and reassembly are all learned through structured instruction and supervised practice — not accumulated through trial and error on clients' watches.

Equipment appropriate to the work

Good watchmaking requires both trained hands and appropriate tools. The Kalasiam bench is equipped with a calibrated timing machine for multi-position analysis, a dry and wet pressure tester for water resistance checks, and a range of movement holders and staking tools sized for the movements we commonly encounter. None of this is decorative — it is what makes a result measurable rather than approximate.

A service you are part of, not waiting for

At most repair centres, you drop off a watch and receive it back with a brief note. At Kalasiam, the process is collaborative. You are shown what we find, told what we propose, and asked before anything is done. If you have questions during the process, they are answered — not deferred to a collection slip. This does not slow things down; it simply keeps you informed.

Pricing that is clear at the outset

Kalasiam's three services are priced and stated clearly before work begins. The figure given at assessment is the figure on the final bill — unless an additional fault is discovered after opening the movement, in which case you are informed and asked how you wish to proceed. There are no charges added quietly at the back end.

Results that can be measured and verified

After any service involving regulation or pressure testing, you receive a written result showing the measured outcome — not a verbal assurance. A timing regulation result includes rate figures from multiple positions. A water resistance result includes the pressure level attained. These records are useful if the watch is ever assessed again in future, and they mean that the quality of our work is not a matter of trust alone.
